Conventional braces make it easy to address minor to severe corrective needs when it comes to the way your teeth bite together. When your teeth bite together properly, they can last several more years than they could with abnormal wear patterns. Otherwise you will be at an increased risk of TMJ disorders, broken or worn out fillings, chipped teeth, and accelerated tooth wear.
Since braces are available right here at North College Dental, there’s no need for you to take your family back and forth all over down between different dental offices. Everything your entire family needs is available right here with the same great staff you know and trust.
Who Needs Orthodontic Therapy?
Some of the most common reasons we recommend braces include:
- Impacted teeth
- Crooked, crowded, or leaning teeth
- Overbites and overjets
- End-to-end bites
A simple occlusion assessment is all that is needed to find out whether or not braces are right for you. We typically recommend an orthodontic evaluation on all children starting at age 7. You may also need an x-ray to evaluate the eruption patterns of your teeth, which is something we typically recommend every 3-5 years. Of course adults make excellent patients as well! The length of treatment will depend on the severity of the bite and the goals of our patients. Dr. Held can provide you with accurate estimate during your consultation visit.
